Biography

I am a self taught, with much still to learn, digital photographer from southwestern Indiana. Like most of us, I have taken photographs for years, to document our vacations and family gatherings. However about a year and a half ago, on a whim, I joined and submitted one photograph which I considered to be one of my best, to a site called Photocritique. I was completely clueless as to whether it had any merit, but when I recieved very positive responses, constructive critiques and most important to me of all, learned suggestions as to ways to improve it, I was hooked. From that day I began to garner much needed confidence in my ability to become a photographer.
I am feeling my way into the field and am thoroughly enjoying the few short paths I have chosen to explore. But the exciting thing is, I have only entered the edge of the woods and there is such a boundless maze of paths and trails yet for me to choose and follow.

Statements

I feel as if adventures and wonders are just ahead around each twist of the path I choose to walk down in my photographic quest for knowledge.
The merging of self with creativity can be utterly complete I am discovering. I personally find that I feel I must constantly be on guard to keep from being totally consumed, at least for the present, for in complete consumption therein may lie the permanant loss of the self I have known all my life. However, I believe eventually, I will discover that the old familiar self may come to welcome with open arms a gradual fade to black in order to allow for the emergence of a new, enlightened, artistic self. In the interim I am absolutely certain that I will be on this journey for the rest of my life. I can only hope the excitement, the wonder, and the awe I feel in looking at the world while walking my creative life's path will never cease for me.
Only time's passage will tell the tale.
I wish for every human being to open up to the creativeness that is within all of us.
Allow yourself to create! You will find it a truly healing balm for your needy soul.

Styles

I don't think that it could be said that I have a certain style of photography yet. I believe that only through exploration will I discover my own way.
