Cara, thanks for the great comment. I do love your work too, it is just totally different from what I can do and I would never attempt your style. I could not do it.
Now to your question; Spindels are very hard to mosiac I usually stay away from them and just paint them. However, if you mosaic them from top to botton in spirals it might work. You know going with the curves. It will be a lot of work though as this requires tiny pieces of glass.
