I began my art career in High School when my art teacher, Neil Mooney, realized I did have potential! At his encouragement after High School I attended Ringling School of Art in Sarasota Florida. It was a wonderful experience which I still look back on as a pivotal time in my art career. After this three year art sojourn I studied under Eliot McMurrough in Melbourne Fl. for several years and then married and became busy with family life and raising two boys. I dabbled in art over the years, but didn’t become serious until just this year when I realized it was time to follow my dream and I have been painting daily since. I have a wonderful little studio tucked among the cabbage palms in a little 1958 mobile home on the property where I live in Melbourne, FL. It is peaceful and inspiring for me to walk there every morning that I choose to and do this thing that makes me feel alive…. I became enchanted by the way the lights and darks defined objects surrounding me in my daily life. Rhythms produced by sunlight drew me in...I wanted to share these feelings with others and oil paint gives me a vehicle to do so. Painting is meditation to me, the philosophy of mindfulness is my quest as I look and paint. I hope you enjoy my work as much as I do creating
